Shell has been active in Ireland since 2002. Shell E&P Ireland Ltd. (SEPIL) held a 45% interest in the Corrib gas field together with Statoil Exploration (Ireland) Ltd. (36.5%) and Vermilion Energy (18.5%). Shell divested its 45% interest in the Corrib gas project to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in November 2018.

Shell is also present in Ireland through Shell and Topaz Aviation Ireland Ltd.. The principal activity of the company is the marketing and distribution of aviation fuels and derivatives. 

Country Financial Analysis

Profit is made predominantly from the downstream marketing business and the tax reflects the Irish tax payable on the profits.
